The Penthouse League's second season began with a Boston Bartenders' doubleheader this afternoon. Hammer rose his championship banner as the Howell Hammers hosted the Bartenders. Howell got to work quick, giving themself a 12-0 lead against the inexperienced Boston roster before back-to-back baskets cut the lead to 8. Howell ended Boston's run on their way to a 15-4 victory in the season opener. After a short intermission, Boston was back on the court hosting Seattle; the Snakes looked to prove that they still belong after a devastating Infinity Cup Final loss just two weeks earlier. The Bartenders hit their stride early in this game, but the Snakes kept it close. Boston took a 12-11 lead before a late game push helped Seattle edge them out with a 16-12 victory. PHL action continues Thursday as Anaheim and Staten Island begin their seasons.
