Snakes & Hammer Set For Infinity Cup Showdown

By: Tommy H. Rossettini / September 15th, 2020

After a long hiatus between the end of the PHL I regular season and the start of the Infinity Cup Playoffs, we're down to the final two teams. Top-ranked Snakes advanced past the semifinals, after his opponent, Brian was unable to play, and forfeited his series do to COVID concerns/complications. Brian declined to comment any further. On the other side of the bracket, Hammer absolutely steamrolled a banged-up Tyler, shutting him out in both games. "Tyler couldn't keep up with me." Hammer told me.

It's sure to be an interesting final, after an extremely dull semifinals. Snakes opens as the slight betting favorite to win the final. When I asked Snakes about his upcoming series, he told me, "It's definitely gonna be a physical series. [Hammer's] a great perimeter defender, so I have to reek some havoc under the rim. I feel great about my chances, and I'm ready to bring home the cup, as we head to Seattle for PHL II". We'll have to wait and see if Hammer's sharp-shooting ability will slow down Snakes, and his 6 game winning streak. Hammer declined to comment when asked about the final series.

The Commissioner tells me the Finals should start on Friday or Saturday. The Finals are a best-of-5 series, with Snakes being the home team in games 1,2, and 5. Hammer will host games 3 and 4. All games will be streamed on @phlbasketball Instagram live -make sure you have Instagram push notifications turned on-, and will be posted to IGTV and Youtube a few days later. Good luck to both Matt "Snakes" Kaskel and Eric Areman "Hammer", and here's to a memorable Infinity Cup Final!
